MasterPlan2Today Miami attracts people from all over the world for its natural beauty and climate. It’s beaches, parks, flowers and palm trees bring tourists and immigrants that come to visit and want to stay. Miami’s economy is also attractive, world markets find here a focal point for investments, as well as a great center for import and export.

But now, Miami has new projects to turn into the world capital, surpassing New York, Dubai, Hong Kong, and other mega cities of the world. Any doubts? Check out the projects below that were already approved and are in full development.

Miami World Center – Right at the center of the city, divided in 5 districts, the planning of WorldSquare, WorldCircle, WorldWalk, WorldPlaza, and 7 th Avenue are done in individual projects to achieve excellence in urban development.


1st Avenue – The central artery of the project in South Florida will be the project’s anchor. As a thoroughfare with palm trees and wide pedestrian walkway, it will provide an animated atmosphere, an area full of restaurants, offices, hotels, and residences.

WorldCircle – A strategic point in the avenue will display a dramatic sculpture to be a focal point of the city creating an attractive and distinct urban space.

7th Avenue – Closed to the traffic, this area will be open to pedestrians to enjoy the boutiques, stores, and the outdoor European style cafés. Many residences loft style will be built in the area for a modern and creative living.

WorldSquare – At the heart of WorldCenter, this will be a public area for festivities and large gatherings, such as fashion week, or New Years Eve.


Worldwalk & WorldPlaza – In a diagonal lane, the Plaza creates an additional area for festivals, outdoor theater, concerts and fresh market. The new projects of Miami don’t end here with the WorldCenter. Some existing parks are doing major renovations to keep up with the new construction.

Bayfront Park – Bayside Marketplace, right in front of the Biscayne Bay is also going through some renovations to update its looks.

Jorge M. Pérez Art Museums (PAMM) – The prior Museum of Art of Miami (MAM) just finished its constructions on December 2013.

The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science – This is another project that is in construction at this point, here are the rendering and current development.

Miami Port – The port of Miami is undergoing a major expansion in its infrastructure as well. Its master plan includes the building of a tunnel, deep dredge, the restoration of intermodal and freight rail, new cranes, and the strengthening of bulkhead, anticipating future growth of the region.

Genting Hotel – The Malaysian hotel chain Genting Group is planning the construction of one of their biggest resorts here in Miami. The construction of the Omni Center was already approved, and it will have a convention center, residences, and four hotels, with a lagoon at its top. In its first phase, the Resort World Miami will be the first one to be built.
